my funeral

so...while talking to a good friend of mine, the topic of death came up. we eventually began discussing our funerals.

i have decided that i want to be cremated and spread amongst the continents, but before this happens i want to have a public viewing for a wake. i also would like a selected play list to be played at this event.

the play list i would like at my services goes as follows, in no particular order, however, more will be added later.

Earth, Wind & Fire -
September
King Harvest -
Dancing In The Moonlight
The Beach Boys -
God Only Knows
Ben E. King -
Stand By Me
Marvin Gaye -
How Sweet It Is (T0 Be Loved By You)
The Beach Boys -
Wouldn't It Be Nice
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole -
Somewhere Over The Rainbow

although i want to be cremated, i would still like a mausoleum or a tombstone engraved with the dance steps to the Cupid Shuffle by Cupid, along with a button that one could press to play the music. this way when people come visit me they could do a little dance.

A Mini-Interview With Eli!

Q: What have you learned about yourself while being in Canada?
A:
I've learned to be more seal friendly!

Q: Before you came to
Canada, were there any misconceptions that you had of the great country?
A: Uh, yeah. I only knew of 3 provinces and one territory. I also thought
people's heads came apart when they talked and that everyone walked around with a dish of poutine whiling saying "eh?" over and over and over, again.

Q: So has your stay changed any of your misconceptions?
A: Yeah, people definitely don't carry around poutine as much as I had thought.

Q: What's one thing that Canada offers its citizens that you wish the USA would offer?
A: OMG, seeing as it's illegal to do so, the ability to vacation the sandy beaches of
Cuba...no, not really, not at all.

I have quite enjoyed these questions, if you would like to pose some more please feel free to forward those questions to my facebook, shoot me and e-mail, or comment below.

If I receive the same questions multiple times I will recognize the said questions as
spam and immediately ignore any further contact.

Leave Me A Message & Sex Ed. In France

i added a new program on my blog. now you fine folks at home can leave me voice mails! please don't be shy, give it a try.

also the pictures that i added on this post are of my friends Yoon, Farès, and Matthieu and i. i quite enjoy the photos and thought i'd share them with U.

so for Reading Break, which is the Canadians counterpart to Spring Break, i traveled to Toronto, Ontario and Montréal, Québec. both cities were amazing. i have decided that i wouldn't mind living in Toronto after i graduate. and i apologize for the "living" link. i couldn't help myself.

well i will be leaving Prince Edward Island in mid-Avril. thought i would use some of the French i have learned.

i hope Arkansas misses me and i can only hope that the island will miss me as well.

oh and THIS is what France uses for its AIDs awareness. scary. SCARIER.

I'll be on the chesterfield.

For those of those who actually read this (Mitchell & Allison), I decided to update this. So while being here on the island I have experienced two days of canceled school due to weather.

Many of you have asked for pictures of Prince Edward Island so I took a picture of what my view is like when I look out my window. You can view it here. If you thought that was beautiful you should also click here. Seriously, though, I'll have pictures up when my computer gets here. I have taken some, contrary to what people believe.

I've added some new words to my extending vocabulary. Whilst here I have learned:

Chesterfield
Kit-Bag
Loonie
Toonie
Washroom

I'll have more up soon.

I've been fortunate enough to make friends with some good people here. They have taken me to a couple of places such as: The Dirty Dirty, OIde Dublin Pub, and Hunter's Ale House.

I've been Island Bowling. It's played with 5 pins and the bowling ball is maybe a little larger than a softball.

I have also been introduced to two people. Alexander Keith and Joel Plaskett. The ladder is very talented.

See ya.

let it snow

one thing that i have had to get used to here is the Atlantic time zone. that and the cold weather. it's -5°F here.

i want to go home already. there's not much to do here in the winter. the town shuts down on Sundays and people pop their collars here.

i don't have a car here. the one thing i can look forward to is going to Toronto next month.

i'm here until April. i'm going to try to make the most of it.

until then listen
to Ain't No Reason by Brett Dennen while viewing this.

Prince Edward Island

I left Texas last week, on Tuesday. When I arrived it was very cold. Go figure. After being here a couple of days I realized that I would not have a vehicle. It is kind of odd having to rely on a trolley for transportation.

If you would like to see where I am you can click here. Pretty far, eh?

As you can see, if you clicked on the link. We are surrounded by water. However, as said in JAWS, "It's only an island if you look at it from the water." But seriously, it's mostly just a small town.

I have met some locals here. They seem nice. There's a bar on campus! Sodas come in glass bottles. They use the metric system here. KFC does NOT serve biscuits. There are no dollar menus at Burger King or McDonald's. The Domino's Pizza here has no crushed pepper. I have yet to see a Taco Bell. French fries with gravy is eaten here, known as poutine.

Although I am not a big fast food guy I thought I'd note the differences.

To be continued...

P.S. Some people "pop" their collars here. Ha.
